“But time soon passes. Even the deepest pain eventually loses its edge in the more vivid reality of the present; then, what once was unbearable becomes strangely familiar. And after much familiarity, it assumes the insignificance of just another milestone, ever marking the journey to higher ground.”
N. Maria Kwami, Secrets of the Bending Grove
The theory that time heals all wounds is not foreign to any of us. The initial pain of loss is often so intense that it is difficult to function, even in the simplest of terms. As the we process and experience the pain it becomes part of our identity. We recognize its presence in our hearts and we are able to move forward, slowly.
I want you to know that no matter your loss, I am proud of you. It takes courage to face the reality of the pain. The emotion is strong, but you must be stronger. You are brave and this, too, shall pass. Grief and loss are part of your journey however you will reach higher ground.
Have hope and know that we are here for you.
With a grateful and humble heart,
Amy
